Car Bomb Explodes Near US Consulate in Iraq

A car bomb exploded Friday outside the U.S. Consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil, according to news reports. Gunfire was reportedly also heard, rare sounds in the largely peaceful city - the capital of Iraq's Kurdistan region. There were no official reports on casualties, but Twitter was abuzz with news of possible injuries.
