A Look Back at the Chibok Kidnapping

It has been a year since Boko Haram took 276 schoolgirls from their dormitory in northeast Nigeria. The Chibok kidnapping was an audacious, but by no means isolated, move for Boko Haram. It was emblematic of a sharp uptick in militant attacks against civilians that have since killed thousands. More than one million people have been displaced. And most of the Chibok girls are still missing. VOA’s Anne Look takes a look at the past year.
