South Sudan Factions Recruit Thousands of Child Soldiers

The U.N. Children’s Fund reports the warring parties in South Sudan have recruited more than 12,000 child soldiers. UNICEF said boys in many areas of conflict are being rounded up and sent to the frontline to fight.   The U.N. agency had said that the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Army did a good job in demobilizing child soldiers after Sudan’s long-running civil war ended in 2005.
