US Parents, Businesses at Odds Over Paid Leave

Jenny Cheek of Washington, D.C. was pregnant with her first child when she was shocked to discover she would have no paid parental leave from her government job.    The United States is one of only two (out of 185) countries in the world that do not provide paid maternity leave, according to a 2014 United Nations report.
