High-Cost Shale Projects Seen Vulnerable in Oil Price Slump

In the last six months, the price of oil has fallen by nearly 60 percent, providing relief for consumers but causing a huge shakeup in the industry. High-cost drilling projects, such as shale extraction in North America, are seen as vulnerable. Rival producers are battling to control the oil market, with accusations that it’s being driven by geopolitics. VOA's Henry Ridgwell reports.
