US to Back $2B in Loan Guarantees for Ukraine

The United States plans to provide up to $2 billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine this year, the U.S. Treasury announced Tuesday. The move is part of an international assistance package to prop up the country as it faces potential insolvency due to tensions with Russia and a separatist conflict in its east.
