North Korea Rejects South's Call for Talks

North Korea rejected Friday a South Korean parliamentary resolution calling for the resumption of stalled talks. A spokesman for South Korea's Unification Ministry told a news conference that Pyongyang gave no reason for the rejection. South Korea's National Assembly passed the resolution in late December, calling for preparation for unification of the two Koreas, and for talks between the two sides in an attempt to thaw tensions.
