US Senate Passes Short-term Spending Bill

The U.S. Senate has approved a short-term funding bill that will keep the federal government running through Wednesday while lawmakers continue debating a $1.1 trillion spending package. Senators passed the bill on a voice vote Saturday, less than 10 hours before a previous stopgap bill was due to expire.
