Japan Stocks Surge to 7-year High

Japanese stocks climbed to a seven-year high Tuesday, continuing momentum from last week, when Tokyo unexpectedly expanded economic stimulus measures. The benchmark Nikkei index rose 2.7 percent, or nearly 450 points, to end at 16,862. It was the first day the markets have been open since Friday, when the Nikkei surged 4.8 percent, its biggest daily gain in 18 months.
