Local Food Enthusiasts Barter Delicacies and Building Community

A food swap movement has been spreading across the U.S. as more Americans grow their own food because of concerns about food safety and sustainability and a desire to eat locally. At a food swap, home cooks and gardeners meet to trade their homemade or homegrown items. As VOA’s June Soh discovered in this report narrated by Carol Pearson, food swaps are not just about food, they are about building community as well.
