Iraqi Kurds Restore Ancient Fortress, Now UNESCO Heritage Site

High atop the city of Irbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, sits a fortress believed to be some six thousand years old. After nearly crumbling to ruins, the fortress is now being restored by the Kurdistan Regional Government with the help of UNESCO, which has designated the citadel as a World Heritage Site.
