CN-Landmark Free Speech Case Marks 25th Anniversary

Saturday, June 21st, marks the 25th anniversary of a landmark Supreme Court decision on free speech. By a vote of five to four, the high court ruled that burning the American flag was a protected act of free speech under the US Constitution.The 1989 decision was controversial at the time and several attempts to enact a constitutional amendment protecting the flag from desecration have fallen short since. VOA National correspondent Jim Malone has more on the legacy of the Supreme Court ruling.
