Two Hundred Trapped in South African Mine

Rescue workers in South Africa are trying to reach about 200 illegal miners trapped underground in an old mine shaft east of Johannesburg. Rescue workers are using heavy duty equipment in an effort to remove large rock and boulders that fell on top of the shaft. Officials say they have been in contact with about 30 of the trapped miners and have managed to free some of the miners trapped close to the surface. Reports say the workers went down into the illegally dug mine on Saturday.
