Military Transport Crashes in Algeria, Killing Scores

Media reports from Algeria say a military transport plane has crashed, killing at least 99 people. The plane crashed Tuesday in a mountainous area of northeastern Algeria, near the town of Oum el-Bouaghi. According to the Associated Press, witnesses say the plane clipped a mountain before the crash. Some information for this report was provided by Reuters news agency.
