UN: Afghan Civilian Deaths Up In 2013

The United Nations says the war in Afghanistan has taken an increasing toll on civilians, making last year one of the deadliest for Afghan civilians in the 12-year war. A report released Saturday by the U.N. Assistance Mission for Afghanistan says the number of civilians killed and wounded in 2013 rose 14 percent with nearly 3,000 killed and more than 5,600 wounded.
