Strong Quake Hits North of Puerto Rico

A magnitude-6.5 earthquake off the coast of Puerto Rico has shaken the U.S. territory's northern coast. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit early Monday, 96 kilometers northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico, at a depth of 28 kilometers below the seabed. There were no immediate reports of damage. Sunday marked the fourth anniversary of the devastating magnitude-7.0 earthquake in nearby Haiti. That quake killed more than 200,000 people and left 1.5 million homeless.
