Elderly American Detained in North Korea

North Korea appears to have detained an 85-year-old American man who entered the country on a valid visitor's visa. According to a report on the San Jose Mercury News website Wednesday, North Korean authorities removed Merrill Newman of California from the plane on which he was to leave the country October 26.
