Rare Solar Eclipse Heading for Africa

A rare solar eclipse is heading toward Africa, where it will cross the continent from west to east. The moon began partially blocking out the sun over the central Atlantic early Sunday morning and will build to a full eclipse before becoming visible in west Africa. The best land viewing of the eclipse is expected in Gabon, where people will be able to see the event for more than a minute.
