Canadian Alice Munro Takes Nobel Prize for Literature

The Stockholm-based Nobel Committee has announced that Canadian Alice Munro is the winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize for Literature. In Thursday's prize announcement the Nobel Committee called the 82-year-old Munro a "master of the contemporary short story." Many of Munro's stories are set in Canada, often in her home territory of southwestern Ontario.
