OTTAWA - Le Musée des sciences et de la technologie du Canada à Ottawa, haussera l’âge minimal pour visiter une exposition sur la sexualité. Le musée aurait reçu des plaintes du public et d’un ministre.

James Moore, le ministre du Patrimoine canadien, s'est montré préoccupé car le musée aurait aussi reçu de nombreuses plaintes de la part de citoyens touchant l’exposition «Sexe: l’Expo qui dit tout».

Dorénavant, les enfants de moins de 16 ans devront être accompagnés d’un adulte.

Une vidéo informatif sur la masturbation a aussi été retirée.

Selon le porte-parole du ministre Moore, la mission du Musée des sciences et de la technologie est de promouvoir la culture scientifique et technologique. L'exposition, a-t-il déclaré, ne correspondait pas au mandat du musée et son contenu ne pouvait être défendu. Il s’agissait d’une «insulte aux contribuables canadiens».

L’Institut du mariage et de la famille au Canada estime aussi que le caractère «érotique et émoustillant» de l’exposition ne convient pas à un musée. Selon son directeur de l’institut, Dave Quist,  l’exposition approuve et encourage le sexe anal, les partenaires multiples, et les rapports sexuels sans engagement affectif ni conjugal.
