Le nouveau président burundais, Evariste Ndayishimiye, a nommé son premier gouvernement, l'ancien ambassadeur de l'ONU Albert Shingiro devenant ministre des Affaires étrangères et l'ancien chef du renseignement national Gervais Ndirakobuca nommé ministre de l'Intérieur.
