Nicaragua: OAS member states must continue to work tenaciously against repression

After the Nicaraguan government’s decision to prohibit the Organization of American States Commission from entering the country, it’s clear that the Daniel Ortega administration is continuing with a strategy to avoid international scrutiny in an attempt to evade responsibility. It is unreasonable that the Commission and the victims have to meet outside the country due to the Nicaraguan government’s refusal to let them in. OAS member states must respond firmly to this situation that threatens human rights and regional institutions
