Le Front commun pour le Congo a suspendu le sénateur Modeste Bahati Lukwebo, qui avait présenté sa candidature au perchoir du Sénat face au ministre sortant de la Justice, Alexis Thambwe Mwamba. Le président du Sénat remplace le chef de l'Etat en cas d'empêchement de celui-ci.
