NewsReporters Without Borders (RSF) is concerned by reports that hedge fund Alden Global Capital, which owns newspaper conglomerate Digital First Media, is attempting to control the editorial content of its newspapers in order to prevent its staffers from publicizing severe financial cutbacks, with serious consequences for press freedom in the communities served by these local papers.
