Microbes Increasingly Resistant to Antibiotics

Drug-resistant bacteria are looming in every hospital. After decades of extensive use of antibiotics, certain types of bacteria mutated to become resistant to the drugs used to fight them. At least one bacterium developed resistance to all known antibiotics. Scientists in Britain and other parts of the world are trying to develop methods for protecting patients from drug-resistant infections. VOA’s George Putic reports.
