Are we living in The Matrix?

Last month a report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch said that there’s a 20 to 50 percent chance we are living in a simulated virtual world. A 50 percent chance that we’re living in the matrix right now?!!! To quote Keanu Reeves: (keanu impression) “Whoa”.The report said, “It is conceivable that with advancements in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and computing power, members of future civilizations could have decided to run a simulation of their ancestors.”Even Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson said the chances of us being inside a simulation “may be very high”.Real-life Tony Stark and SpaceX founder, Elon Musk, thinks there’s "a billion to one chance we're living in base reality", meaning computer simulation. He said that video games are getting so good that "If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will become indistinguishable from reality.”So if you’re too afraid to ask that boy or girl out, or to get a motorcycle license or to backpack through Europe alone - relax, there’s a 50 percent chance we’re all just video game characters.Speaking of which, say hi to your mom, Ms. Pac-man for me.
