From cocoa field to classroom, in Côte d’Ivoire

SAN PEDRO, Côte d’Ivoire, 26 December 2014 – On a warm September day, Halima sits in the back of the classroom, listening carefully to her teacher. At 12 years old, she is the oldest student in her class. She is just starting her first year of school, in the small village of Koffikro in southwest Côte d’Ivoire. Until now, her parents have refused to send her to school.
