Kerry says North Korea's leader reckless, ruthless

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who is in Vietnam to shore up a multi-national trade deal, made news over the weekend with his comments about another Asian country. In an interview with ABC's program "This Week," Kerry weighed in on North Korea's Kim Jong Un executing his powerful uncle: "It tells us a lot about, first of all, how ruthless and reckless he is," Kerry said of Kim. (text slide) "And it also tells us a lot about how insecure he is, to a certain degree." (text slide) He said the execution of Kim's uncle underscored a need for a unified stand against North Korea's nuclear program. "To have a nuclear weapon potentially in the hands of somebody like Kim Jong Un just becomes even more unacceptable," Kerry told ABC.
