Selon un réseau de télévision canadien de langue anglaise, Michaëlle Jean, l’actuelle Gouverneure générale du Canada, serait nommée envoyée spéciale de l'UNESCO pour Haïti en septembre 2010. Son mandat qui prend fin cette année ne sera donc pas renouvelé.
