Qatar : Poet sentenced to life imprisonnment for writing poem

The Qatari poet, Mohammad Ibn al-Dheeb al-Ajami, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for writing a poem. On November 29th, 2012, the poet was given a life sentence for “insulting the Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani", and “inciting to overthrow the ruling system.”
