    <title>Discrimination in the University: Causes, Forms and Paths to Solutions</title>

    <description>What forms of discrimination can be observed on campus? How are they manifested? Is it possible to overcome discrimination, whether racial, linguistic or religious? If so, what are the paths to solutions? The Tolerance.ca&amp;reg; group and the Communications Department at the University of Sudbury organized an event on campus to mark International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It featured five students from the federated universities of Laurentian University of Sudbury.</description>

    <description>To mark International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Tolerance.ca&amp;reg; organized two panel discussions on religious diversity featuring several distinguished panellists. The first meeting was held at Vanier College. The second, on which a report follows, was held at the Maison des &amp;eacute;crivains under the theme &amp;ldquo;Education, Religion and Diversity: Enrichment&amp;nbsp;or Source of Conflict?&amp;rdquo; On the panel were Dr. Patrice Brodeur, Canada Research Chair on Islam, Pluralism and Globalization at the Universit&amp;eacute; de Montr&amp;eacute;al; Dr. Amir Khadir, physician and co-founder of the new political party Qu&amp;eacute;bec solidaire;&amp;nbsp;Dr. Rabia Naguib, a researcher at HEC Montr&amp;eacute;al; and Dr. Marc-Alain Wolf, a psychiatrist at the Douglas Hospital and member of Tolerance.ca&amp;reg;.</description>
