Turkey - Kurdish journalist serving 166-year jail term wins press freedom prize

Reporters Without Borders reiterates its condemnation of the way the Turkish authorities persecute journalists who try to cover Kurdish issues objectively. Several journalists with Kurdish media are currently serving long jail terms because their reporting. One of them, Vedat Kursun, was awarded a Journalists Association of Turkey press freedom prize on 24 July.
