Boy With Cancer Sells Hot Chocolate To Raise Almost $7,000 For Other Sick Kids

Matthew McDonnell wanted to do something special for sick children like him. Since the age of three, the six-year-old has had three major surgeries, months of chemotherapy and 25 radiation treatments to fight a stage IV Wilms tumor. His father helped him build a stand to sell hot cocoa in their town and within hours, they raised almost $7,000. All the money will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand, a non-profit that raises fund for pediatric cancer research.
