Former Stanford Swimmer Banned for Life from Competition

A national swimming organization has banned a former Stanford University athlete for life, following his sexual assault conviction.USA Swimming issued a statement condemning the actions of Brock Turner, adding that the organization does not agree with any acts of sexual misconduct.Turner had been pursued for Olympic competition, though his membership with the organization expired at the end of 2014; his crime and arrest occurred in the following month.The lifetime ban is the latest fallout for the 20-year-old after receiving a lenient sentence of six-months in prison.Turner's three convictions carried a maximum sentence of 14-years.
