The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning doctors that routinely prescribing narcotic painkillers leads to drug addiction and overdose deaths. VOA's Carol Pearson reports the health agency has asked doctors and patients to rethink the use of these drugs and to review alternative ways of relieving pain.
