EU Members Urged to Admit 6,000 Migrants Monthly

The European Union on Thursday called upon member states to take up to 6,000 migrants a month from Greece and Italy. European Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said EU nations had taken in fewer than 900 migrants from an overburdened Greece and Italy out of an initial 160,000 they had agreed to relocate.
