US Trying to Learn Whether IS Leader Killed in Syria Airstrike

The United States is trying to determine whether an airstrike last week in Syria killed a top Islamic State leader. A U.S. official confirmed the strike was carried out Friday near town of al-Shaddadi, but there was no clear determination of the fate of Tarkhan Batirashvili, also known as Omar the Chechen.
