Democrats Seek to Link Gun Violence Measure to Funding Bill

One day before U.S. government funding authorization was set to expire, the Senate on Thursday passed a short-term, five-day measure to keep the government running past Friday. The House is expected to pass a similar measure Friday. And the White House says the president will sign it, which would avert any agencies shutting down.
