New Fighting Alliance in Syria Putting up Fight Against IS

As French forces conduct airstrikes on the Islamic State group’s positions in Syria -- in retaliation for terrorist attacks in Paris - on the ground Syrian fighting forces are coming together to put up a joint fight against the so-called Islamic State. This newly formed alliance, called Democratic Syrian Forces (DSF), consists of Kurdish, Arabic and Turkmen fighting forces.
