Demie Omol recounts how, after he was allegedly trafficked from the Philippines to the UK to work on an Irish fishing boat – a claim the vessel’s owners strongly deny – he ended up penniless, exhausted and isolated. Determined to support his family, Omol says he worked almost non-stop without proper rest until a hospital visit brought his case to the attention of the authorities. Now he fears for the future of his children
