Reporters Without Borders is appalled to learn that Saudi Arabia has been appointed to head a five-member panel that advises the United Nations Human Rights Council, which is currently holding its 30th session. The Saudi ambassador to the HRC, Faisal bin Hassan Trad, was quietly appointed to the position in June but the appointment only came to light today.
