Senior Al-Qaida Leader Killed by US Airstrike in Afghanistan

The U.S. military said an airstrike earlier this month in southeastern Afghanistan killed a "high-ranking al-Qaida operational commander." In a statement Friday, the Pentagon said Abu Khalil al-Sudani was killed in a July 11 attack in Paktika province, which borders Pakistan.
