Encryption and anonymity are essential for freedom of information

Reporters Without Borders joins 25 other civil society groups in hailing a report by David Kaye, the United Nations special rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, that says the use of encryption and anonymity in digital communications deserves strong protection.
