New USAID Initiative Pushes Benefits of Girls' Education

The Obama administration has embarked on a high-profile initiative to empower girls through education -- saying the inability of girls to attend school worldwide should be a foreign policy priority. Poverty, lack of resources and cultural norms prevent girls in many areas of the world from going to school, and First Lady Michelle Obama is backing efforts to change this through a number of strategies.VOA’s Keida Kostreci has more.
