Reporters Without Borders welcomes the Afghan information and culture ministry's announcement on 5 May that “under article 42 of the press law, it is terminating the activities of the commission for the verification of press offences.” The announcement added that the ministry would “quickly organize a consultation with journalists' associations with a view to creating the media commission envisaged under the new law in order to improve media conditions in Afghanistan.” Created under an old (...)
