Footage Of Everest Avalanche Caused By Aftershock From Nepal Earthquake

AN AVALANCHE cascades down Mt Everest towards base camp - caused by aftershock tremors this afternoon following the Nepalese Earthquake. The wall of snow rushes down the mountain face but stops short of the camp. The footage was shot by Carsten Lillelund Pedersen, a Dane who was climbing Everest with Belgian climber Jelle Veyt while the avalanche struck. Pedersen can be heard describing the scene, which includes a white wave of snow rising above a mountain ridge. Carsten reports that there have been several small avalanches caused by a series of aftershocks following the 7.8 quake, but that this was the biggest of the day.   For more from Use The World:    Videographer / Director: Carsten Lillelund Pedersen Producer: Tom Midlane Editor: Kyle Waters
