Story of Legendary Marksman Gets Big Screen Treatment in 'American Sniper'

Oscar-nominated film drama “American Sniper,” by Clint Eastwood, is based on the true story of Chris Kyle, a Navy SEAL, who served four tours in Iraq as a sniper. During his active duty, Kyle saved countless American soldiers and became famous, and infamous, among friends and foes for his unfaltering marksmanship. The film explores the toll of war on the human psyche. VOA’s Penelope Poulou has more.
