Activists: Al-Qaida Fighters Seize Syrian Base

Activists say fighters from the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front have seized an army base in northwestern Syria. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said militants from a group called Jund al-Aqsa helped the Nusra fighters take the Wadi Deif base in Idlib province on Monday.
