NY Policeman Not Indicted in Chokehold Death

A grand jury in New York City voted Wednesday not to indict a white police officer in the chokehold death of an unarmed black man in July. The officer, Daniel Pantaleo, was seen in a widely circulated video recorded July 17 with his arm wrapped around Eric Garner’s neck, wrestling him to the ground in an attempt to arrest him for allegedly selling untaxed cigarettes on Staten Island.
