US Supreme Court Rejects Suits to Repeal Gay Marriage

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected appeals to reinstate gay marriage bans in five states. The top court decided Monday not to hear appeals to rulings by lower courts that have struck down bans on same sex marriage. The justices did not comment in rejecting appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. Gay and lesbian unions in those states and six others can now proceed.
